UoA Style

UoA (University of Auckland) is a footnote referencing style requiring an in-text citation, a related footnote within the text, plus a related entry in a bibliography at the end of your document.

The University of Auckland (UoA) style is a footnote referencing style. 

UoA style requirements

In-text citations

In the UoA Style, you reference by providing a footnote number within the text of the document (in-text citation)

Footnote citation

Add a corresponding footnote citation at the bottom of the page with full details of the source. The footnote citation may also include the page number. 

Reference list

You then add the related entry to the reference list at the end of your document.

New Zealand experienced its most severe public health crisis and natural disaster when over 8,500 people succumbed to influenza and pneumonia within a span of six weeks.2
