Staff guide: Add a Library subject guide to Canvas

To add a Full guide or guide to a Page in your Canvas course:

1. Go to the Edit mode of a new or existing Page and in the Rich Text Editor, go to the Tools menu > Apps >Select Library Resources from the list of apps. 

    

2. In the Library Resources box, under Content Type, select Full Guide, Single Page (i.e. a tab within a guide) or a Content box from the dropdown menu. Then select the specific Guide, Page/tab or Content box you would like to embed on your page. Then click the Embed Content button. 

Note: You can also select to add a single database or a list of Databases to your page. If you choose to add a list of databases, please be aware that this is a selection of databases listed in the subject guides, and subject tagging may differ from our complete list of Library Databases.

We suggest adding the database box from the appropriate subject guide to add a list of relevant subject-specific databases to your Canvas course.

1. If you want to add part of a guide to your page, in the Library Resources app menu, under Content Type, select Content Box. Then select the Guide and Guide page that the content box is located on and the specific box you would like to add.
2. You can remove the blue box around the content box by selecting Display box without header or border.
3. Then click the Embed Content button.
