Regional Pacific Methodologies are methodologies that use a specific localised knowledge or cultural perspective as a basis. The application of local knowledge to Pacific research methodologies intends to create a research approach that is more appropriate and effective for the communities the research is in participation with. Considering the Pacific has enormous cultural diversity, applying regional Pacific methodologies allows researchers to be responsive to their specific research contexts and environments. It is also important to note that many of these methodologies were created, and are used, in Aotearoa, rather than the rest of the Pacific.
