Māori and Indigenous Methodologies: Conferences

Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) is a world-class Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE). NPM conducts excellent research of relevance to Māori communities and is an important vehicle by which New Zealand continues to be a key player in global indigenous research and affairs. Our research is underpinned by the vision of Māori leading New Zealand into the future. As a network and community of researchers, based in institutions across NZ, our goal is to realise the creative potential of Māori communities and to bring about positive change and transformation in the nation and wider world.

WIPCE draws Indigenous representatives from across the globe to share successes and strategies for culturally grounded education. WIPCE conferences attract Indigenous education experts, practitioners, scholars, students and communities. As a result, WIPCE is the largest and most diverse Indigenous education forum in the world.

The Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) is an interdisciplinary, international membership-based organization comprised of scholars working in the fields of Native American and Indigenous Studies broadly defined. NAISA is the premier international and interdisciplinary professional organization for scholars, graduate students, independent researchers, and community members interested in all aspects of Indigenous Studies.

Indigenous Leadership Development Institute Inc. (ILDII), an Indigenous-run not-for-profit organisation located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, initiated the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF), in partnership with leaders of host countries representing Indigenous communities. The most recent edition was held in Villavicencio, Meta, Colombia, 26-28 October 2022. The WIBF draws attention to Indigenous Economic Development and is a not-for-profit initiative.

Te Kotahi Research Institute delivers research and innovations that contribute to the aspirations of Iwi, Māori, and Indigenous communities. Te Kotahi focuses on developing interdisciplinary solutions to complex challenges, supporting the integration of mātauranga Māori, and enabling Indigenous control of Indigenous data.
